Six years ago, the Kreishandwerkerschaft Steinfurt Warendorf started the vocational training partnership with uMfolozi College in Richards Bay, South Africa by signing the cooperation agreement.

There is a lot going on in the start-up center set up by the Kreishandwerkerschaft (KH) together with our South African vocational training partner, uMfolozi College in Richards Bay.

Because of the corona pandemic, the short-term expert Martin Pillich from the Steinfurt-Warendorf district craft association can currently not travel to the South African vocational training partner, the uMfolozi College in Richards Bay.

Contribution to addressing the causes of flight and displacement

Once again the Kreishandwerkerschaft hosted a South African delegation as part of the partnership project with uMfolozi College.

The new state-of-the-art training facility was opened at the uMfolozi TVET college at Esikhawini Campus in October 2017.

Representatives of the Universities UPB and IUSH from Medellin (Colombia) visited the Kreishandwerkerschaft Steinfurt-Warendorf and the University of Applied Sciences in Münster.

In March 2017, 8 trainers from the uMfolozi College in Richards Bay came for a train the trainer programme to Germany.

How does the dual training in Germany works in practise? Which screws need to be turned in training establishments, vocational schools and Kreishandwerkerschaft so that all components of the training optimally interlock?

We are happy to welcome Mr. Oliver Petzoldt (Programme Manager of the Partnership Project) in his new position in Richards Bay and wish him a good start in his new job.

In November 2015 the partnership project (financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development) between the uMfolozi College in Richards Bay / South Africa and the Kreishandwerkerschaft Steinfurt-Warendorf has started.

The German dual vocational training system enjoys high global recognition and many countries are  interested in implementation the system or parts of it in their own country.

Since already 3 weeks 12 participants from Pakistan get further educated at the Kreishandwerkerschaft in Beckum.

Visit of a delegation from Nigeria at the Kreishandwerkerschaft Steinfurt-Warendorf

To support the partnerships, meetings between several Turkish and German organisations were organized and a fruitful discussion about future took place.
