Emergency solution goes to school

Because of the corona pandemic, the short-term expert Martin Pillich from the Steinfurt-Warendorf district craft association can currently not travel to the South African vocational training partner, the uMfolozi College in Richards Bay.

He was actually supposed to bring didactic know-how to the trainers and technical skills from dual vocational training in Germany to the students. That is why an online solution was developed. First, a tutorial film on the construction of pillars and masonry arches was created in the German education center.

With the help of this film and a direct online connection to Martin Pillich, the implementation with the instructors on site in South Africa took place. The trainers had to learn how to pass on the contents of the task to their trainees in a didactically meaningful way. Initially, the trainers took on the role of the trainees. The training was a complete success. The college instructors and our on-site team, long-term expert Oliver Petzold and project assistant Tilmann Bess, were very satisfied with the “emergency solution”. Special thanks go to Martin Pillich for his commitment.

The vocational training partnership with the uMfolozi College is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
